In 2022, the average export price for hop cones; ground, powdered or in the form of pellets; lupulin amounted to $11,812 per ton, waning by -15.4% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $13,969 per ton in 2021, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($22,726 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kyrgyzstan ($6,681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average import price for hop cones; ground, powdered or in the form of pellets; lupulin amounted to $31,511 per ton, waning by -41.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 183% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $85,475 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Belgium.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +23.9% per month.

For the third year in a row, Slovenia recorded decline in shipments abroad of hop cones; ground, powdered or in the form of pellets; lupulin, which decreased by -12.6% to 789 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a dramatic slump. The smallest decline of -5.2% was in 2021.
In value terms, exports of hop cones; ground, powdered or in the form of pellets; lupulin reduced markedly to $9.3M in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 4.9%.
