The average grapes; fresh or dried import price stood at $2,469 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -9.2% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,849 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($2,775 per ton) and Spain ($2,604 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,858 per ton) and South Africa ($2,041 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average grapes; fresh or dried export price stood at $2,664 per ton in August 2023, declining by -4.8% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 17% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $3,107 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($3,112 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($1,336 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Grapes; Fresh or Dried in Germany
In 2022, purchases abroad of grapes; fresh or drieds decreased by -1.6% to 406K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth.
