In general, the import price showed a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 55% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,194 per ton. From July 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($5,294 per ton), while the price for Qatar ($1,674 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In December 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Saudi Arabia ($8,548 per ton) and Iran ($8,548 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($6,181 per ton) and Qatar ($7,409 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
