The average import price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) stood at $1,579 per ton in December 2023, increasing by 1.6% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a modest expansion from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, import price for glass fibres (including glass wool) and articles thereof (eg yarn, woven fabrics) decreased by -40.0% against August 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 125% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,629 per ton. From September 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($6,321 per ton), while the price for Iran ($768 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $18,042 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($35,359 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($6,730 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
