Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in New Zealand (FOB) - 2022

The average glass fibres and wool export price stood at $11,769 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($11,769 per ton) and Japan ($11,769 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($11,769 per ton) and Cayman Islands ($11,769 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cayman Islands (+46.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, exports, however, posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 145%.
