Price for Glass Fibres and Wool in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

The average glass fibres and wool import price stood at $4,141 per ton in March 2022, declining by -16.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 64% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $6,628 per ton in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($7,900 per ton), while the price for China ($3,231 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average glass fibres and wool export price amounted to $5,750 per ton, falling by -40.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 106% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,686 per ton, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($9,444 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,604 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+16.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Glass Fibres and Wool in Indonesia

In 2022, imports of glass fibres and glass wool into Indonesia surged to 13K tons, with an increase of 40% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 40%.
