The average import price for bottles, jars and other containers of glass stood at $147 per thousand units in August 2023, with a decrease of -2.9% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 19% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $173 per thousand units in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($266 per thousand units), while the price for Ukraine ($128 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for bottles, jars and other containers of glass stood at $0.4 per unit in 2022, growing by 3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $0.5 per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.1 per unit), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($0.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
