The average export price for ginger, saffron, tumeric (curcuma), thyme, bay leaves, curry and other spiceses stood at $2,325 per ton in February 2024, shrinking by -26.5% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a temperate expansion from February 2023 to February 2024: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2024 figures, export price for ginger, saffron, tumeric (curcuma), thyme, bay leaves, curry and other spiceses decreased by -26.5% against January 2024 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 57% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,162 per ton in January 2024, and then dropped markedly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Panama ($9,310 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($1,343 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Panama (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the import price saw a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2024 when the average import price increased by 72% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,928 per ton, and then dropped remarkably in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Turkey ($2,926 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($985 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
