In November 2023, the average import price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use amounted to $65.8 per unit, rising by 11% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 14% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $85.6 per unit. From April 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($622 per unit), while the price for the Netherlands ($11.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use stood at $110 per unit in November 2023, with an increase of 16% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 163% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $245 per unit. From March 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($536 per unit), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($27.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Furniture; Wooden, Other than for Office, Kitchen or Bedroom Use in Greece
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use decreased by -6% to 1.7M units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 64% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.8M units, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, imports of furniture; wooden, other than for office, kitchen or bedroom use expanded significantly to $122M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
