The average export price for fresh or chilled bone-in cuts (excluding carcasses and half-carcasses) of bovine meat stood at $3,083 per ton in July 2023, increasing by 15% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 23% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,905 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($3,571 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($2,189 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
