The average import price for fertilizers, mineral or chemical; containing nitrates and phosphateses stood at $427 per ton in 2022, waning by -1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $676 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($1,741 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($370 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Norway (+22.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $1,533 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Rwanda.
