Price for Electronic Integrated Circuits; Memories in Hungary (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average electronic integrated circuits; memories import price amounted to $374 per thousand units, which is down by -35.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 52% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $581 per thousand units in May 2023, and then contracted sharply in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($1.6 per unit), while the price for Belgium ($151 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average electronic integrated circuits; memories export price stood at $1.6 per unit in 2022, shrinking by -15.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a slight expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 97%. The export price peaked at $2.7 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($5.4 per unit), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($0.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+17.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Electronic Integrated Circuits; Memories in Hungary

Electronic integrated circuits; memories imports into Hungary declined to 141M units in 2022, shrinking by -9.1% on 2021. Overall, imports showed a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 161M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; memories imports contracted sharply to $286M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $366M, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 21M units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; memories exports fell notably to $30M in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 57%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $41M, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
