In August 2023, the average electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers import price amounted to $847 per thousand units, with an increase of 361% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible curtailment. The import price peaked at $2.0 per unit in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1.3 per unit), while the price for Hungary ($5.1 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers export price amounted to $1 per unit, falling by -13.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1.1 per unit in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($3.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($0.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Electronic Integrated Circuits; Amplifiers in Romania

For the fourth consecutive year, Romania recorded growth in supplies from abroad of electronic integrated circuits, which increased by 31% to 63M units in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +57.4% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, electronic integrated circuits; amplifiers imports surged to $57M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +66.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
