In 2022, the average import price for dyes; reactive dyes and preparations based therea amounted to $4,949 per ton, shrinking by -8.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 35%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,776 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($11,545 per ton), while the price for India ($3,319 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, export price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for dyes; reactive dyes and preparations based therea decreased by -51.3% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 75% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7,526 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Malaysia ($4,391 per ton) and Pakistan ($3,629 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($3,502 per ton) and Sri Lanka ($3,601 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +38.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 78%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $430M, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
