Japan (73K tonnes), China (63K tonnes), Thailand (55K tonnes), Turkey (53K tonnes), Indonesia (41K tonnes), Belarus (36K tonnes), Portugal (32K tonnes), South Korea (30K tonnes), the U.S. (25K tonnes), Bangladesh (20K tonnes), India (17K tonnes), and Italy (16K tonnes) represented roughly 70% of total imports of synthetic filament tow in 2016.

The following importers - Pakistan (59K tonnes), South Korea (58K tonnes), China (56K tonnes), Spain (52K tonnes), Japan (51K tonnes), India (51K tonnes), Belgium (50K tonnes), and France (48K tonnes) together made up 29% of total imports.
