In 2022, the average import price for cycles; parts thereof, wheel rims and spokeses amounted to $6,704 per ton, growing by 6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 48%. The import price peaked at $6,778 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($16,267 per ton), while the price for China ($3,881 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 30% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $7,334 per ton in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($9,969 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($4,525 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 45%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $10M, and then contracted in the following year.
