Price for Cutlery; Other than Plated with Precious Metal in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023

The average import price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals stood at $12,687 per ton in October 2023, dropping by -41.2% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a measured increase from November 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, import price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals decreased by -41.2% against September 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 56% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $21,590 per ton in September 2023, and then reduced sharply in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($25,057 per ton), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($3,487 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals amounted to $14,474 per ton, surging by 24% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated tangible growth from November 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals increased by +25.0% against August 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 81% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $18,867 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($36,912 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($5,603 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Cutlery; Other than Plated with Precious Metal in the Czech Republic

In 2022, approx. 762 tons of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals were imported into the Czech Republic; with an increase of 11% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22%.

In value terms, imports of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals shrank to $11M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 33%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $11M, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals shrank rapidly to $4.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $5.6M, and then contracted notably in the following year.
