The average import price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals stood at $11,005 per ton in 2022, reducing by -6.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $13,491 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($19,564 per ton), while the price for China ($6,348 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cutlery; other than plated with precious metals stood at $12,596 per ton in 2022, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $18,244 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($22,426 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($3,613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+9.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Cutlery; Other than Plated with Precious Metal in Slovenia
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals decreased by -5% to 246 tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 60%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 259 tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, imports of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals shrank to $2.7M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +40.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 58% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.1M, and then declined in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 75%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 181 tons, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of cutlery; other than plated with precious metals contracted to $1.9M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $2M, and then dropped in the following year.
