The average cereals; grain sorghum, seed import price stood at $2,454 per ton in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 32%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,472 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,955 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,382 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+14.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of cereals; grain sorghum, seeds decreased by -20.1% to 1.5 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 257% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $5.4K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
