The average import price for buckwheat, millet and canary seed; other cerealses stood at $277 per ton in October 2023, increasing by 6.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 60% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $788 per ton. From May 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Canada ($856 per ton), while the price for Poland ($252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, the export price recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 90%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,469 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($549 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
