Price for Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Kenya (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average aluminium; tubes and pipes import price amounted to $4,384 per ton, waning by -14.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,545 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($66,881 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($762 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+29.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average aluminium; tubes and pipes export price amounted to $9,168 per ton, falling by -2.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 254%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,441 per ton, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uganda ($33,987 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($276 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Kenya
In 2022, purchases abroad of aluminium; tubes and pipeses was finally on the rise to reach 73 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage.
