The average export price for alcohols; aromatic alcohols and derivatives, benzyl alcohol stood at $2,459 per ton in November 2023, increasing by 5.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,983 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($4,157 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($2,004 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,117 per ton. From January 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
