In 2022, the average import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s amounted to $4,313 per ton, with an increase of 7.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s increased by +25.9% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 76%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($20,251 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($3,843 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+26.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 90%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $12,941 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($24,833 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus stood at $6,998 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+1.5%).

In 2022, purchases abroad of crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s decreased by -78% to 62 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a sharp contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 11%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 311 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s fell notably to $267K in 2022. Overall, imports faced a precipitous decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 12%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.2M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

As a result, the exports reached the peak of 3.4 tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of crustacean preparations; prepared or preserved crustaceans (excluding crab, shrimps, prawns and lobster)s reduced notably to $12K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 162,887% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $24K, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
