Preservative-Treated Rough Wood Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023
The average preservative-treated rough wood import price stood at $73.8 per cubic meter in June 2023, with a decrease of -41.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 23% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $126 per cubic meter in May 2023, and then shrank dramatically in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($178 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany ($68.2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preservative-Treated Rough Wood Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
The average preservative-treated rough wood export price stood at $91 per cubic meter in 2022, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 54%. The export price peaked at $319 per cubic meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($188 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Romania ($82 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+50.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preservative-Treated Rough Wood Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, preservative-treated rough wood imports into Slovakia soared to 468K cubic meters, surging by 17% on 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -13.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 79%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 542K cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood imports skyrocketed to $41M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Preservative-Treated Rough Wood Exports in Slovakia
In 2022, shipments abroad of preservative-treated rough wood decreased by -42.9% to 198K cubic meters, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 263% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 426K cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, preservative-treated rough wood exports dropped notably to $18M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 201% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $27M in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.
