Over the period under review, global imports attained the maximum at $56M in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Switzerland (191K tons), France (169K tons) and Ireland (122K tons) represented the major importer of pre-coated aggregates in the world, achieving 93% of total import. Albania (21K tons) took a little share of total imports.

The global exports peaked at 870K tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pre-coated aggregates exports fell to $35M in 2022. In general, exports saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 11%. The shipments of the three major exporters of pre-coated aggregates, namely Belgium, Germany and the UK, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Austria (67K tons) took the next position in the ranking, distantly followed by Switzerland (31K tons). All these countries together took near 21% share of total exports. France (17K tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

The average pre-coated aggregates export price stood at $73 per ton in 2022, jumping by 29% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $79 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($95 per ton), while Switzerland ($7.7 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
