Palm Kernel Oil Price in South Africa (CIF) - 2023
The average palm kernel oil import price stood at $968 per ton in September 2023, rising by 1.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,630 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,511 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($958 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average palm kernel oil export price amounted to $2,167 per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous year.
