Palm Kernel Oil Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average palm kernel oil import price amounted to $1,771 per ton, falling by -2.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,817 per ton in July 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($2,372 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,705 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Palm Kernel Oil Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average palm kernel oil export price amounted to $2,449 per ton, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 114% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,599 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,109 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($2,029 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+24.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Palm Kernel Oil Imports in Poland
For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in supplies from abroad of palm kernel and babassu oil, which increased by 15% to 18K tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +68.0% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, palm kernel oil imports skyrocketed to $40M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 118%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Palm Kernel Oil Exports in Poland
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of palm kernel and babassu oil decreased by -30.4% to 209 tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 694% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 301 tons, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, palm kernel oil exports dropped remarkably to $512K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 813%.
