In 2022, the average oxygen-function amino-compound import price amounted to $3,270 per ton, picking up by 13% against the previous year. The average oxygen-function amino-compound export price stood at $2,534 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 27% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 85% m-o-m. From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mozambique (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Imports in South Africa
For the fourth consecutive year, South Africa recorded growth in overseas purchases of oxygen-function amino-compounds, which increased by 6.3% to 24K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.0% over the last three-year period.
