From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of organo;sulphur compound imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Mexico (+7.8% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Moreover, India emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2007-2016. Brazil experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2007 to 2016, the share of China increased by 2% percentage points, while India (-1.7%), Spain (-1.8%), and Viet Nam (-1.9%) saw their share reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($3.3B), Belgium ($3.2B) and the U.S. ($2.3B) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 48% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Japan, India, the Netherlands, China, Spain, Viet Nam, Thailand, Brazil and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 17%.
