Which Country Exports the Most Oxygen-Function Amino-Compounds in the World?

In 2016, the global exports of oxygen-function amino-compound amounted to 4M tonnes, jumping by 11% against the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a remarkable expansion from 2007 to 2016: the total exports volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, oxygen-function amino-compound exports increased by +55.9% against its level of 2007. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016, when export increased by 11% against the previous year level. In that year, global oxygen-function amino-compound exports reached its maximum volume, and are likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, oxygen-function amino-compound exports amounted to $19B in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Over the period under review, global oxygen-function amino-compound exports reached its maximum level of $21B in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Exports By Country

China (1.4M tonnes) was the largest exporting country with an export of around 1.4M tonnes, which amounted to 35% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the U.S. (463K tonnes), Indonesia (408K tonnes), Germany (287K tonnes), Belgium (233K tonnes), the Netherlands (198K tonnes), and Brazil (187K tonnes), together mixed up 44% share of total oxygen-function amino-compound exports. Thailand (159K tonnes), South Korea (143K tonnes), Saudi Arabia (97K tonnes), and Malaysia (67K tonnes) took the slight share of total exports.

China was also the fastest growing in terms of the oxygen-function amino-compound exports, with a CAGR of +11.8% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, South Korea (+10.7%), Thailand (+8.4%), Belgium (+7.6%), Indonesia (+6.6%), Germany (+4.7%), Saudi Arabia (+4.1%), and Malaysia (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. The Netherlands, and the U.S. experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Brazil (-1.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Thailand (-2.0%), South Korea (-2.1%), Germany (-2.4%), Belgium (-2.8%), Indonesia (-4.4%), and China (-22.2%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Belgium ($3.4B), China ($2.8B) and the U.S. ($1.2B) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2016, together accounting for 39% of global exports.

Belgium (+12.8% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of oxygen-function amino-compound exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for oxygen-function amino-compound amounted to $4,669 per tonne, lowering by -9.0% against the previous year. In general, oxygen-function amino-compound export price continues to indicate a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when export increased by 11% against the previous year level. Global oxygen-function amino-compound export peaked of $6,137 per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was Belgium ($15 per kg), while Saudi Arabia ($795 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of oxygen-function amino-compound export prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+5.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
