The average oriented strandboard (OSB) import price stood at $322 per cubic meter in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, oriented strandboard (OSB) import price increased by +65.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 66% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $323 per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Romania ($335 per cubic meter) and Hungary ($283 per cubic meter), while the price for Bulgaria ($246 per cubic meter) and Ukraine ($272 per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Oriented Strandboard (OSB) Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average oriented strandboard (OSB) export price amounted to $339 per cubic meter, with a decrease of -14.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 52%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $396 per cubic meter, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($1,063 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Greece ($221 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Oriented Strandboard (OSB) Imports in Turkey

For the third year in a row, Turkey recorded decline in supplies from abroad of oriented strandboard (OSB), which decreased by -46.4% to 36K cubic meters in 2022. Overall, imports showed a dramatic shrinkage. The smallest decline of -25.5% was in 2020. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 136K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, oriented strandboard (OSB) imports shrank remarkably to $12M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a sharp slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $30M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Oriented Strandboard (OSB) Exports in Turkey

In 2022, the amount of oriented strandboard (OSB) exported from Turkey declined significantly to 3.8K cubic meters, waning by -25.9% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 7.3% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 5.1K cubic meters, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, oriented strandboard (OSB) exports plummeted to $1.3M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 63%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $2M, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
