Particle Board Market Size in Turkey

In 2020, the Turkish particle board market increased by X% to $X for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year declining trend. In general, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Particle board consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, consumption failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, particle board production soared to $X in 2020 estimated in export prices. In general, production saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Particle board production peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, production failed to regain the momentum.

Exports from Turkey

In 2020, shipments abroad of particle boards decreased by -X% to X cubic meters for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2019, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, particle board exports contracted to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Taiwan (Chinese) (X cubic meters), Georgia (X cubic meters) and Algeria (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of particle board exports from Turkey, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Taiwan (Chinese) (+X% per year), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for particle board exported from Turkey were Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), Georgia ($X) and Algeria ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports.

Taiwan (Chinese) (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average particle board export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per cubic meter in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Lebanon ($X per cubic meter) and Greece ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($X per cubic meter) and Azerbaijan ($X per cubic meter) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Albania, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Particle Board Imports

Imports into Turkey

For the third year in a row, Turkey recorded decline in supplies from abroad of particle boards, which decreased by -X% to X cubic meters in 2020. In general, imports showed a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, particle board imports dropped rapidly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports recorded a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Romania (X cubic meters), Bulgaria (X cubic meters) and Hungary (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of particle board imports to Turkey, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Hungary (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest particle board suppliers to Turkey were Romania ($X), Bulgaria ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. Hungary, Italy and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Import Prices by Country

The average particle board import price stood at $X per cubic meter in 2020, declining by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per cubic meter. from 2019 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per cubic meter), while the price for Brazil ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
