Olive Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

The average olive import price stood at $3,751 per ton in 2022, rising by 14% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 49%. The import price peaked at $13,233 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,622 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($2,780 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-11.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Olive Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

In 2021, the average olive export price amounted to $4,963 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 23%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,292 per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Denmark.

From 2015 to 2021, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Sweden amounted to -7.0% per year.

Olive Imports in Norway

In 2022, imports of olives into Norway skyrocketed to 34 tons, with an increase of 90% against the year before. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 532% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, olive imports skyrocketed to $129K in 2022. In general, imports posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 281% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
