In value terms, the United States ($3.1B) constitutes the largest market for imported non-household ventilation fans worldwide, comprising 19% of global imports. Exports By Country

China was the key exporting country with an export of about 521M units, which finished at 57% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (130M units) and Germany (57M units), together comprising a 20% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (31M units), the United States (24M units), Mexico (17M units), Italy (15M units) and Thailand (14M units) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-household fan exports from China stood at +3.9%. At the same time, Thailand (+24.2%), Mexico (+7.7%), the United States (+3.5%), Italy (+3.5%), Germany (+2.5%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +24.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-1.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China increased by +4.7 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($3.7B), Germany ($2.8B) and the United States ($1.3B) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 49% of global exports. Italy, Hong Kong SAR, Mexico, Thailand and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.

Thailand, with a CAGR of +12.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices By Country

In 2022, the average non-household fan export price amounted to $17 per unit, with an increase of 10% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 87% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $29 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($62 per unit), while Hong Kong SAR ($4.8 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
