Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
The average non-combined refrigerator-freezer export price stood at $243 per unit in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 34%. The export price peaked at $306 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($381 per unit), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($209 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+26.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average non-combined refrigerator-freezer import price amounted to $281 per unit, remaining constant against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2021 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $299 per unit in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($266 per unit), while the price for China ($70.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Exports in Vietnam
For the fourth year in a row, Vietnam recorded growth in overseas shipments of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined), which increased by 1.8% to 526K units in 2022. In general, exports saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 109%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer exports rose notably to $128M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +25.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +99.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Non-Combined Refrigerator-Freezer Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, the amount of household refrigerators and freezers (not combined) imported into Vietnam fell markedly to 167K units, which is down by -19.2% compared with the previous year. In general, imports saw a precipitous slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 497K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-combined refrigerator-freezer imports fell modestly to $46M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a precipitous curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $103M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
