In July 2023, the average millet export price amounted to $813 per ton, increasing by 27% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated resilient growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, millet export price increased by +27.2% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 44% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $814 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,685 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($592 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+20.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
