Milled Rice Price in Tanzania (FOB) - 2022
In December 2021, the average milled rice export price amounted to $523 per ton, rising by 3.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 46% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $742 per ton. From April 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($601 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
