Memories Price in Australia (CIF) - 2022
The average memories import price stood at $14 per unit in 2022, picking up by 2.9% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, memories import price increased by +75.5% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 40%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($76 per unit), while the price for Singapore ($2.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+17.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average memories export price amounted to $4.5 per unit, with an increase of 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5.2 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($11 per unit), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($2.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Memories Imports in Australia
In 2022, the amount of multichip integrated circuits: memories imported into Australia declined rapidly to 5.5M units, dropping by -29.4% on the year before. In general, imports recorded a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -12.1% was in 2020. Imports peaked at 10M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
