Melamine Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

In March 2022, the average melamine import price amounted to $2,278 per ton, increasing by 11% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated prominent growth from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, melamine import price decreased by -11.5% against December 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 an increase of 25% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,574 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($2,666 per ton), while the price for China stood at $1,878 per ton.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Melamine Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

The average melamine export price stood at $665 per ton in 2022, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,893 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($1,672 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($70 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Melamine Imports in Indonesia

For the fourth consecutive year, Indonesia recorded growth in overseas purchases of melamine, which increased by 147% to 76K tons in 2022. Overall, imports recorded significant growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, melamine imports skyrocketed to $186M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Melamine Exports in Indonesia

In 2022, shipments abroad of melamine was finally on the rise to reach 245 tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a dramatic shrinkage.

In value terms, melamine exports surged to $163K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a dramatic downturn.
