In September 2023, the average lithium carbonate import price amounted to $14,063 per ton, with an increase of 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 48% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $20,822 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Chile ($16,609 per ton), while the price for Argentina totaled $10,796 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (+1.3%).

The average lithium carbonate export price stood at $41,966 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 80% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 251% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $61,014 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
