Ketone and Quinone Price in Australia (CIF) - 2022

The average ketone and quinone import price stood at $4,035 per ton in 2022, surging by 6.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 40%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($13,531 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ketone and Quinone Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022

The average ketone and quinone export price stood at $7,701 per ton in 2022, growing by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Papua New Guinea ($10,766 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Caledonia ($2,773 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Papua New Guinea (+13.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ketone and Quinone Imports in Australia

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of ketones and quinones, when their volume decreased by -12.8% to 14K tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 9.9%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 16K tons, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, ketone and quinone imports shrank to $56M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 50%.
