Headphone Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average headphone import price amounted to $59.9 per unit, waning by -4.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 61% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $91.7 per unit. From January 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($113 per unit), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($33.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average headphone export price amounted to $46 per unit, growing by 21% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $51 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($128 per unit), while the average price for exports to the UK ($8.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (+33.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
