In 2022, the average glass fibre voiles import price amounted to $4,205 per ton, with an increase of 3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 50%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,731 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($51,867 per ton), while the price for China ($3,739 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+26.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Glass Fibre Voiles Imports in the Dominican Republic
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of glass fibre voiles, when their volume decreased by -44.3% to 4.1 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 683%. In value terms, glass fibre voiles imports fell markedly to $17K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 552% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $30K, and then fell sharply in the following year.
