The average glass fibre voiles import price stood at $1,286 per ton in December 2021, surging by 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 an increase of 19% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,862 per ton in December 2020; however, from January 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($2,936 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,193 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
