Glass Fibre Filament Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average glass fibre filament export price amounted to $1,510 per ton, dropping by -6.8% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 16% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,931 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($1,918 per ton) and Germany ($1,738 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,349 per ton) and Spain ($1,370 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Glass Fibre Filament Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average glass fibre filament import price amounted to $2,116 per ton, picking up by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated modest growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, glass fibre filament import price increased by +84.0% against April 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 65% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,182 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,186 per ton), while the price for China ($887 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glass Fibre Filament Exports in Slovakia
For the third consecutive year, Slovakia recorded decline in overseas shipments of glass fibre filaments, which decreased by -21.3% to 39K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt slump. The smallest decline of -1.3% was in 2021.
In value terms, glass fibre filament exports reduced modestly to $67M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $68M, and then reduced modestly in the following year.

Glass Fibre Filament Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, glass fibre filament imports into Slovakia surged to 9.1K tons, rising by 18% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 20%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
