Glass Fiber Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022

The average glass fiber export price stood at $1,485 per ton in 2022, reducing by -2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,895 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,329 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Glass Fiber Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022

In January 2022, the average glass fiber import price amounted to $5,039 per ton, picking up by 56% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated buoyant growth from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.3% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, glass fiber import price increased by +56.4% against December 2021 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($12,249 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($1,388 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Glass Fiber Exports in Russia

In 2022, glass fiber exports from Russia rose to 89K tons, picking up by 3.8% on the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 4.4% against the previous year.

In value terms, glass fiber exports totaled $132M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Glass Fiber Imports in Russia

In 2022, imports of voiles, webs, mats and other articles of glass fibers into Russia expanded rapidly to 30K tons, with an increase of 8.4% against the previous year. In general, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +47.9% against 2019 indices.
