Fruit and Berry Price in Kazakhstan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average fruit and berry import price amounted to $589 per ton, remaining constant against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $803 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($958 per ton), while the price for Kyrgyzstan ($226 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tajikistan (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fruit and Berry Price in Kazakhstan (FOB) - 2022
The average fruit and berry export price stood at $396 per ton in 2022, rising by 52% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 56% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $628 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Fruit and Berry Imports in Kazakhstan
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of fruits and berries, when their volume increased by 12% to 594K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, fruit and berry imports rose sharply to $350M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn.

Fruit and Berry Exports in Kazakhstan
In 2022, the amount of fruits and berries exported from Kazakhstan declined rapidly to 41K tons, which is down by -71% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 124%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 141K tons, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
