Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Uganda (CIF) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $1,146 per ton in 2022, which is down by -2.1% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved sweet corn import price increased by +115.2% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,171 per ton in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,092 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($964 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Uganda (FOB) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $1,362 per ton in 2022, which is down by -3.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 124%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,416 per ton in 2021, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($2,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium amounted to $1,161 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+31.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preserved Sweet Corn Imports in Uganda
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of sweet corn prepared or preserved, when their volume increased by 87% to 6.6 tons. In general, imports, however, saw a precipitous curtailment.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports soared to $7.5K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic downturn.

Preserved Sweet Corn Exports in Uganda
Preserved sweet corn exports from Uganda fell rapidly to 149 kg in 2022, waning by -40.4% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports recorded a significant curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 390%.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn exports fell dramatically to $203 in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 594%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $354, and then declined markedly in the following year.
