The average cyclic hydrocarbons; m-xylene export price stood at $1,273 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 70% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 81%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,467 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were India ($1,550 per ton) and Mexico ($1,365 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,118 per ton) and South Korea ($1,345 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
