Crude Glycerol Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average crude glycerol import price stood at $819 per ton in January 2022, increasing by 6.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2021 an increase of 17% m-o-m. The import price peaked in January 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Greece ($903 per ton), while the price for Finland ($539 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Crude Glycerol Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average crude glycerol export price stood at $684 per ton in 2022, picking up by 3.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, faced a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 42%. The export price peaked at $2,140 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($4,704 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($270 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+65.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Crude Glycerol Imports in Russia
Crude glycerol imports into Russia shrank rapidly to 56K tons in 2022, waning by -38.4% on the year before. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 91K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, crude glycerol imports contracted remarkably to $22M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 165% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $32M, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
